Garrett McLeod Lands Two Podium Spots & Florenz Knauer Earns UCI Points to Kickoff BC Superweek

Vancouver, BC – Garrett McLeod led the H&R Block Pro Cycling Team to a successful start to the 2015 BC Superweek series in North Delta, BC, on Friday night. McLeod held off Optum Pro Cycling’s Will Routley in a sprint for second place in the MK Delta Lands Criterium. Silber Pro Cycling’s Ryan Roth finished first with the breakaway win to kick off the start of BC Superweek.

Following this performance at the White Spot | Delta Road Race, newly signed rider, Florenz Knauer secured additional UCI points for the team with his 5th place finish in the UCI 1.2 road race.

McLeod followed up Friday’s strong performance with an impressive 2nd place finish at the historic Global Relay Gastown Grand Prix in front of a downtown crowd of over 20,000 spectators. Racing against the best riders in North America, McLeod was able to bridge across and join the late breakaway in the race. With five laps to go, Silber Pro Cycling’s Ryan Roth attacked the breakaway group and managed to hold on for the win. McLeod once again outsprinted Optum Pro Cycling’s Will Routley for second place. In a historic finish, Canadians secured the top three podium spots for the first time since 1984.
